Honorable Mention (Grand Finals)

March 2021

I worked in a team of 2 to build a mock buy-side pitch deck for a fictional global macro hedge fund. We built a diversified fictional portfolio based on macroeconomic research, and simple portfolio optimization theory. The portfolio included equity indices, fixed income securities, and options. — Prelims Round 1

We individually competed in an asset management simulation as a portfolio manager for a hedge fund with US$20M AUM, and maximized profit through optimal asset allocation and rebalancing. Graded individually based on diversification and returns. Our team was selected from a pool of 1382 students to participate in the grand finals.

— Prelims Round 2

Participation in the grand finals was individual. I competed in a sales & trading simulation, as both a market maker from an investment bank, and a portfolio manager from a hedge fund, and tried to maximize profit by setting ideal bid-ask spreads and taking best prices, respectively. Won the honourable mention for making good trades with ideal bid-ask spreads.
